When we began imagining seed cards at TableTwelve, our goal was clear: to create something joyful and genuinely eco-friendly, not simply labelled as “green”.

We wanted to design cards that made people smile while also respecting the natural world, and we knew that every material and process involved would need careful consideration to make that possible.

Many seed cards currently on the market combine the card and the seeds into one single sheet of plantable paper. While the idea is charming, it often means that the message, illustration or keepsake value of the card disappears the moment the seeds are planted. The heartfelt sentiment, the memory of the sender, and the delight of the design are lost to soil. We wanted to rethink that approach, making sure that the card itself could be treasured long after the seeds had bloomed.

So, we chose our own path. Rather than embedding the seeds into the card, we include a separate detachable seed pod. This means the lucky recipient can plant the seeds and enjoy watching wildflowers flourish, while still keeping the card as a meaningful memento.

Our seed cards are so special, if we may say so ourselves. Each seed pod is filled with a carefully selected blend of wildflower seeds that support pollinators and bring a burst of colour to gardens, balconies and window boxes. As the flowers grow, they form a living reminder of the message shared, a connection that deepens rather than disappears.

Crucially our SillySeed cards, like all our card ranges, are printed on FSC-certified card stock, sourced from responsibly managed forests that protect woodland ecosystems. The packaging is recyclable and we avoid plastic like the plague! This reflects our commitment to reducing waste. 

At TableTwelve, everything we create is guided by the belief that small, thoughtful choices can add up to meaningful change. Through our SillySeed cards, we aim to turn a simple exchange of words into something lasting, uplifting and kind to the planet.
